Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Accounting Coordinator is accountable for providing input into innovative service delivery for SHA (former Heartland) financial services.  This includes the preparation of accurate, timely, financial information, which outlines the former region's financial position, in conjunction with the Financial Services Team.  The Accounting Coordinator promotes quality services through the development of policies and standards.  The Accounting Coordinator provides leadership by acting as a resource, facilitator, coordinator, role model and advocate for Financial Services.
Required Qualifications

Related university Degree and/or a professional accounting designation, i.e. CPA
Experience
A suitable combination of education and experience. Previous experience and familiarity with audit and year-end procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs
Knowledge of MIS Guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Advanced accounting skills
Excellent management, leadership, organizational and decision making skills
Ability to assume responsibility and work independently
Ability to develop, coordinate, and prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure
Ability to design, use and interpret computerized databases and spreadsheets
Ability to analyze complex situations and environments; and provide mentorship to achieve workable and practicable solutions
Ability to adapt, prioritize, interpret and respond quickly to changing situations
Other Information

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics accounting software appli
