JOB SUMMARY:
The employee in this classification is responsible to fabricate, assemble, operate, troubleshoot, install, commission, maintain, test and repair equipment, machinery, controls, facilities and infrastructure associated with the specific trade. The position is based out of Swift Current, and will require travel on a regular bases to locations within Saskatchewan. This is generally in the south west corner of the province from Gravelbourg to Maple Creek, however, may include other locations as required. The position will also be required to work under direct supervision in Saskatoon to ensure proficiency in working on specialty equipment. This duration will depend on qualification, experience and proficiency shown while working in Saskatoon.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment or Truck and Transport Mechanic AND;
Ability to attain the Utility Fleet Equipment Mechanic Certificate within 24 months of acquiring the position
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position
Ability to cooperate and deal tactfully with others
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Valid Class 1A drivers license, or ability to attain the license within 12 months of acquiring the position.
