You are a skilled, hard-working, performance driven labourer who is diligent in maintaining all equipment and machinery responsibilities. You combine mechanical ability with a background in the agricultural industry and specialty crops that enables you to be an effective team player in the maintenance and operation of an agricultural terminal.
You will:
Ensure the facility complies with all health and safety procedures.
Ensure the facility and equipment is cleaned, well maintained and serviced.
Unload and receive deliveries of pulses and specialty crops, including weighing and documentation.
Provide friendly and professional service to farmers and truckers delivering pulses and specialty crops.
Take samples of pulses and specialty crops for quality analysis.
Operate facility control systems, grain processing equipment and bagging equipment.
Prepare and load export shipments in rail cars and containers.
Prepare shipping documentation and maintaining pulses/specialty crops samples.
Operating a forklift as needed.
What the successful candidate will bring:
Grade 12 or equivalent with a demonstrated understanding of and experience in the agriculture industry (grain and/or specialty crops experience an asset) and experience operating cleaning equipment.
Mechanically inclined with the ability to repair equipment and conduct minor installations.
Able to operate grain processing equipment.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic with the ability to learn and a willingness to take on the responsibilities of the position and contribute effectively as a team player.
Physical ability to perform the required duties of the role within a specialty crops facility.
Able to handle bags (lifting, stacking) up to 25kg (~50lbs).
Forklift licence and experience operating a forklift is an asset, or a willingness to be trained/certified.
Valid class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation.
Ability to overtime is necessary.
