Description

The Battlefords Early Years Family Resource Centre (BFRC) is recruiting individuals who have a passion for and experience working with young children 0-5 years of age and their families/caregivers Support Workers at the BFRC will be responsible for engaging with parents, caregivers and young children in strength based ways.  Job tasks will include being part of a team that develops and delivers activities for children their families/ caregivers at the Family Resource Centre.

Required Qualifications:

Completed a recognized program in the field of Early Childhood, typically gained through Early Childhood Certification I, II, or III or equivalent experience and education
Valid First Aid/CPR certificate

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A non-judgmental attitude and acceptance of diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
Flexibility and adaptability
Knowledge about child development, including how children acquire language, problem solve, and develop physically, cognitively, socially and emotionally
Ability to be compassionate and empathetic when supporting a wide variety of families and children
Ability to problem solve, take initiative, and work independently as required
Ability to work as a team member with supervisor, other staff, community partners and visiting professionals
Excellent "people" skills and ability to identify and build on family strengths
Great interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of the programs and services available to families in the Battlefords
