Description

The Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services (YTCCFS) Inc. is seeking enthusiastic dedicated individuals to fill the position of Supervisor for the Ochapowace Land Based Project
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Home Coordinator, these individuals will to provide a holistic approach to the wellness of the child and the family, that is based on First Nations culture and traditions, the guidance and involvement of Elders, and the support of family and community members. The successful candidates will provide direction and support to the Land Based Family Workers. Traditional knowledge transfer will be facilitated, specifically on traditional teachings, language reclamation and food education. The transmission of cultural knowledge through storytelling, traditional teachings and land-based healing activities will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1)Training in the human service field that includes some study in child and behavior psychology and group work.  
2)At least 2-3 years experience in a residential setting
3)Experience & or ability to work with high risk youth.  
4)An understanding of First Nations issues and commitment to First Nation people.
5)Knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with emphasis on family violence, child welfare, the impacts of trauma
6)Knowledge in Addictions and/or Mental Health
7)Knowledge of Indigenous historical and contemporary issues
8)Experience & or ability to work with high risk youth
