RM of Star City No. 428 is accepting applications for 1 full-time yr. round employee. This job has the potential to be a permanent career for the right applicant.
Requirements of successful applicant:
-have municipal/construction site experience operating heavy equipment & maintaining and/or building roads & installing culverts
-have good working knowledge of grading techniques & winter snowplowing
-have a valid 1A license with driver's abstract & criminal record check available
-be competent in operating semi-tractor unit & wheel loaders for the purpose of hauling gravel & clay
-self-motivated with strong work ethic, willing to work long hrs. with high physical demand & perform various duties as assigned by RM foreman
-hrs. of work in construction season start 6am & will require some evenings & Saturdays
-good organizational, communication & record keeping skills
-attention to detail with strong values rooted in health & safety
-have steel-toe safety boots (other PPE supplied) & at all times protect safety of you & other workers
-First aid, ground disturbance; powered mobile heavy equipment operator & WHIMIS certificates an asset
-experience operating excavators, dozers, backhoes, rock trucks, skid steer & water truck an asset, but not a necessity
-legally able to work in Canada & pre-screen drug & alcohol testing may be required

RM of Star City will offer competitive wage based on previous work experience. Municipal Employees Pension Plan also obtainable after 3 month probation.
