This position will report to the General Manager. Your duties will be performed in an urban park setting and will include both inside and outside tasks. The person will work as a team member and independently on the food farm to plant, weed, water, trim, monitor and harvest the vegetables and fruit. The person will perform various duties including operating small power equipment including mowers, rototillers and trimmers. As well as other assigned duties.
The ideal candidate will have:
Ability to be happy at work.
Valid Class 5 drivers license and eligible for coverage under Wakamow Valleys insurance policy.
Physical ability to perform manual tasks which includes lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to work with a diverse group of volunteers.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations to perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.
The ability to perform said duties outside.
Successful applicant will be willing to work evenings and weekends. This position is a Canada Summer Jobs 2020 program and the applicant needs to be between the ages of 15 and 30.
