Description

This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. Your duties will be performed in an urban park setting and will include both inside and outside tasks in all types of weather conditions.  The person will perform duties such as: operating various power equipment including push/self-propelled mowers, weed whips, chainsaws, cutters, and trimmers.  Maintenance duties of park areas including weeding, watering, grass cutting; heavy cleaning and maintenance.  Duties of the park facilities including washroom maintenance, floor/wall cleaning, vacuuming, set-up of tables and chairs, take downs of tables and chairs. Operate vehicles to transport employees and equipment to work sites.


The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to be happy at work

Obtained grade 10 or equivalent

Ability to read and follow verbal direction

Valid Class 5 drivers license and eligible for coverage under Wakamow Valleys insurance policy

Physical ability to perform heavy manual labour which includes lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Ability to work professionally around the general public.

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations to perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.

The ability to perform duties outside.
