Description

Due to the recent Company growth, Siemens Transportation Group Inc., requires a Corporate Controller to join our finance department in Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Corporate Controller will
oversee the financial activities of Edge Transportation Services Ltd. and Triangle Freight Services Ltd., as well as
work closely with a team of talented staff.

Responsibilities
- Provide direction relating to accounting and finance matters
- Must have the ability to develop, mentor and lead a team of finance and accounting professionals
- Generate reports on various costs and revenues in order to identify trends, assess information, make recommendations and communicate meaningful information to management
- Identify and analyze variances in monthly operating statements including variances between periods and those between projected and actual financial results
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Oversee the financial reporting, consolidation, profit and loss, and trend analysis
- Train, supervise and lead the finance department
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Assist with preparation of audits
- Assess accounting internal controls on a regular basis

Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) with 7-10 years of experience in a senior accounting role
- Minimum of 3-5 years people management experience
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, information technology and corporate reporting requirements
- Ability to work confidently in a dynamic environment
- Experience in the transportation industry is considered an asset.

- Strong analysis and problem solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
