Description

Position: Full time, temporary, 16 weeks. The Family Activities Worker delivers a range of engaging recreational and social activities that strengthens the wellbeing of the families we serve at LIHS Dol-Mar Manor and Emergency Shelter. This individual will work to promote healthy, active living, social connection and positive family interactions while offering support and practical assistance to children, youth and their mothers.
Responsibilities: Organizes and facilitates recreational and social activities for individuals and families. Engages children/youth, women in activities and play that promotes strengths, interests and the wellbeing of each individual. Supports families with their day-to-day routines, practical needs and provides childcare options for mothers.  

Qualifications: Education in a Human Services or Early Childhood Development field. Experience with vulnerable children/youth/families. Has a positive, outgoing demeanor, the ability to develop warm, supportive relationships with children, youth and women, the ability to work effectively in a demanding, team environment, and strong problem-solving skills.  A valid drivers license, a minimum of 3 years driving experience and a clean driving record.
