This position is responsible for the planning, coordinating and daily scheduling and transacting of all fabrication work flow in order to meet production schedules.
Position Responsibilities:
Create manufacturing orders for fabrication equipment from the master production schedule and MRP requirements.
Schedule, contact and expedite parts from internal work centers. Work with production supervisor to develop and implement contingency plans when necessary and keep management informed of actions being taken.
Perform lot sizing and load leveling solutions to achieve efficient and effective workflow, minimize material handling, and reduce total costs.
Analyze and resolve critical planning issues in order to meet the production schedule, quality, inventory, cost and delivery objectives.
Utilize information system tools to maintain part number data-element integrity within the plant's planning information system databases.
Analyze and correct, or facilitate the correction of, discrepancies, paperwork or inventory problems to maintain parts flow and improve inventory accuracy
Liaise with various departments to ensure timely execution of new product launches in parallel with current production.
Initiates and supports continuous improvement of operational processes and support activities.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills
Working knowledge of Manufacturing Control systems, shop planning procedures and plant layout.
Knowledge of line scheduling, rates of production, machines, tooling, set-ups, unit variations, orders and speeds of operation, capacities, sheets, blueprints, alternative processes.
Project management experience.
Previous experience in MRP/ERP systems, production control activities, production and inventory management processes.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree is required. Business, Operations Management or Engineering majors preferred.
