Description

Vendasta is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its fast-paced and ever-growing Finance team! Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for month-end close, preparation of the companys Financial Statements under ASPE, and other financial analysis as necessary. The Senior Accountant will work with various members of the Finance team for systems & process improvements that will optimize the Finance function of the business.

Responsibilities
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under ASPE
Prepare management reports including variance analysis and trending reports
Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts and year-end working papers
Review invoice/expense reports and produce reports for payment processing
Assist with preparation for any external audits or independent reviews being conducted and liaise with external auditors
Own the treasury aspects of the business (credit cards, banking)
Prepare compliance documents, government claims and schedules for external stakeholders
Assist with transition to IFRS from ASPE and other accounting tasks as required
Liaise with members of finance team to improve financial procedures and streamline processes
Assist with improvements to internal controls

Requirements
Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related fieldCPA designation considered an asset
3+ years experience in professional accountingprevious SaaS (Software as a Service) experience considered an asset
Demonstrated ability to use Excel and/or Google Sheets effectively
Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in an autonomous work environment
Strong attention to detail and time management skills in a dynamic and changing environment
