Job Description: The Adult Maternal Mental Health Triage Nurse - Adult Intake Services, Mental Health and Addictions Team is an integral member of Adult Intake Services, serving as a liaison between Community Physicians, Adult Psychiatry, Maternal Mental Health and Addiction Service and other community services. The nurse is an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team providing triage, comprehensive assessment, including suicide risk assessment, crisis interventions and short term intensive case management to those clients referred for services from physicians to Maternal Mental Health Adult Psychiatry. Responsibilities include triaging referrals and linking services to community mental health and addiction services and to adult psychiatry services. Other duties may include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, short term counselling, goal planning, consultation with community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Level C Health Care Provider (HCP) - Heart & Stroke
Current CPR and PART certification
Must possess a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle
Experience
Minimum of five years recent experience in mental health or relevant setting required.
