Description

We are currently accepting applications for Operations Foreman/Forewoman. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply with a resume and/or CV, and include a minimum of three (3) references.
Reporting to SSRIDs General Manager, the duties of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to:
-Overseeing t he successful execution of SSRIDs day to day operations (water conveyance & delivery, systems maintenance & repair, staff & equipment allocation, equipment maintenance & repair, etc.).
-Operating & maintaining large and modern equipment used for SSRID s operations (passenger vehicles,large trucks, tractors, mowers, trackhoe, backhoe, dozer, etc. as required.
-Supervising and mentoring staff, including ditch riders, mechanics, and summer students
-Communicating with the General Manager and the Board of Directors on a regular basis to ensure the short and long term plans/goals for SSRID are attained or surpassed.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Secondary School Diploma
-Proven leaders hip ability. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven organization skills essential.
-Proven social skills and a respectful demeanor are a must.
-Three (3) years experience operating and maintaining equipment, with larger and more modern equipment experience preferred.
-Superior mechanical aptitude.
-Valid class 5 (passenger vehicle) driver's license.
-Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment, with tight deadlines and varying
weather conditions. Weekends, early mornings, and evenings will be required (on a scheduled/on call basis).
-A positive attitude, good work ethic , and a concern for safety at all times
Desirable Assets (not required, but helpful):
-Experience with center pivot irrigation.
-Ability to weld, fabricate, or perform light carpentry/electrical/plumbing work.
-Valid class 1A or 3A driver's license.
-Valid pesticide applicator certification.
