Description

Avena Foods is actively seeking two Maintenance Technicians for the Regina oat milling operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for install/troubleshoot/repair/maintain all equipment in accordance with safety/preventive, predictive/productive maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities
-Maintain production line equipment & tools to ensure safety/minimize downtime
-Perform preventative maintenance/servicing/troubleshooting/repair on all processing equipment, incl bucket elevators/conveyors/blowers/milling machines/packing equipment to ensure reliability/safety
-Focus on safe working practices/quality workmanship
-Complete assigned work orders in a timely fashion
-Ensure good housekeeping within entire building
-Read/interpret equipment manuals/work orders to perform required maintenance/service

Qualifications
-Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
-Experience in preventative maintenance/electrical/mechanical/pneumatic trouble shooting
-Food Grade Manufacturing experience or Industrial Agricultural maintenance
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to work independently in a busy environment
-Ability to react to urgent production maintenance issues
-Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
-Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Practices
-Able to operate forklift & aerial lifts
-Must follow all work instructions/Good Manufacturing Practices/Food Safety Procedures, Illness/Disease Policy & all other company policies/procedures

Education
-High school diploma/GED or equivalent
-Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training preferred
-Valid Drivers License
