As a Senior Software Developer, you will serve as an essential product architect drawing on previous experience in the telecommunication domain to customize, optimize, manage and troubleshoot our Asterisk-based phone system. We expect that you will grow into a thought leader at Vendasta, driving better results across our development organization.
Responsibilities
Develop software and provide operational support in a team of 3-5 people, with the ability to take on tasks from the team and independently work on them to completion
Raise the quality of outcomes delivered by the team you are on by creating and improving processes and systems to scale the technical support operations as the organization grows
Managing, securing and auditing configuration of in-house telephony installations
Customization of Vendastas phone system, including extensions, trunks, voicemail & recording, simple or advanced dial plans, and other features & customization options
Work collaboratively with Product Managers to scope, execute and manage technical projects, working with internal team members, customers, and vendors as needed
Follow best practices to write clean, maintainable, scalable, observable, and tested software
Take part in an on-call rotation for business-critical infrastructure
Qualifications
4+ years experience in a related field
Bachelors degree in software engineering or computer science, or 5+ years experience
Experience with VoIP systems, including network administration and proficiency in deploying software phone systems into usable services
Software development experience in telephony systems, CRM, and other add-ons, plug-ins, or integrations
