Description

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the IA Administrator will be responsible for the following duties.Responsibilities and Duties:
1.)Adheres to the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Personnel Policy as set out by the Chief and Council of Kinistin Saulteaux Nation.
2.)Maintain strict confidentiality.
3.)Administer the income assistance program to ensure that persons meet eligibility requirements:  
* Validate that the person resides on Kinistin Saulteaux Nation and qualifies for income assistance
* Determine eligibility for assistance based upon a budget procedure and/or needs test by review of applications and personal interviews with applicants *Verify accuracy and completeness of application prior to issuing assistance *Determine assistance applicant is entitled to through criteria in accordance to Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) policy and procedure *Assess applicant's eligibility for special needs through documentation *Prepare, adjust and sign IA budget and decision sheets and applications
*Prepare payments to clients *Work collaboratively with the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Employment & Training team that includes Pre-Employment Support (PESP) Program and Post-Secondary/Labour Force Development Program to provide employment counselling and programming for clients
4.)Maintain Income Assistance Record and Budgets;*Maintain applications and recipient files
*Review files on an on-going basis and record changes in applicant status to ensure that assistance is adjusted accordingly*Review changes to Budget and Decision sheets with clients
*Responsible for documentation of IA statistics and/or other documents on a monthly basis
5.)Other duties:
*Develop and maintain working relationship with other governmental agencies engaged in providing benefits or services in the areas in Income Assistance *Other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and making referrals to other supports as needed by clients
