Description

The Opportunity
Working under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide specialized support for students with exceptional needs. The Speech - Language Pathologist is a specialist in providing diagnostic and programming services for school children with communication, language, speech, voice, articulation, swallowing, fluency, hearing and other related challenges. The Speech-Language Pathologist consults and collaborates with Principals, classroom teachers, parents, and other Student Services personnel or agencies to support student success in learning.

Schools and communities to serve will be determined at a later date.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Experience working within the elementary and secondary school context.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team including teachers, school administrators, support staff, parents and professionals from other agencies.
Demonstrate ability to build good interpersonal relationships and establish positive rapport with students, colleagues, administrators and parents.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skill in human relations, leadership and conflict management.

Qualifications
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized post-secondary institution
A minimum of one (1) year experience as an SLP or equivalent would be considered and asset.
Eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologists.
Preference may be given to those who meet the requirements for a Professional B Teacher Certificate.
Valid drivers license
