Description

Reporting to the LINC/ESL Program Manager, the Conversation Circle Facilitator is responsible for helping newcomers learn conversational English, developing social networks and making connections to their local community. The Facilitator is responsible to facilitate one ESL conversation circle with listening and speaking activities that support newcomers as they practice and enrich their English language skills. Key to this role is developing a welcoming and comfortable group environment that provides the foundation for socialization and practical applications that support language development. These classes will be delivered in a blended learning format incorporating the use of technology and on-line learning in conjunction with face-to-face instruction. Contact time with learners will be 3 hours per week, which includes both scheduled class time and independent technology-based learning when required. Flexible hours and travel within the College region will be necessary at times as students participate in real-life learning experiences.
