Description

Viterra is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst at our Regina Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviews monthly reconciliations and returns for commodity and withholding taxes and associated accounting entries.
Prepares and/or reviews corporate income tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries.
Analyzes and compiles financial data to support components of the calculation of monthly, quarterly and year-end provisions, including inter-company reporting requirements.
Researches income and sales tax issues to support advice and recommendations made to business units.
Responds to external auditors and compiles information and data for tax audits.
Prepares and/or reviews various foreign reporting requirements including 1099, 1042, US sales and use returns.
Participates in due-diligence of potential company transactions (acquisitions or dispositions), including performing research and analysis as required

Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated oral, written and listening communication skills.
Close attention to detail.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Computer proficient with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheets, databases, communication and word processing software applications.

Education and Qualifications:

Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible experience in an accounting role. Knowledge of corporate tax is a strong asset.
Post-secondary degree in Accounting with designation, such as CPA.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
