Description

Norseman Structures has been in the protection and shelter business for almost 100 years, starting with the fabrication of outfitter and exploration tents in the 1920s. Today we deliver a wide variety of ShelterSolutions to customers in virtually every industry, in a variety of climates, anywhere in the world.

We are looking to add a Design Detailer to our team in Saskatoon. Reporting to the Detailing Supervisor, the Design Detailer will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings for both the steel and fabric components of our ShelterSolutions.

Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, will be critical in this role. Working closely with our Engineering Department, the Design Detailer prepares engineered drawings, component lists, shop drawings and other related documents that are necessary for the project. During the process of creating the drawings, coordination of information is required with our Project Management and Proposal groups in order to ensure drawings are accurate and in accordance with customer requirements.

The incumbent will have completed an Engineering Technology Diploma and be proficient with AutoCAD. Previous experience using Inventor or SolidWorks as well as proficiency with Excel would be considered an asset. This is a fast paced position, where the ability to prioritize, multitask and shift priorities is a must. Previous experience working in construction or manufacturing would be beneficial but is not required.
