Description

Norseman Structures has been in the protection and shelter business for almost 100 years, starting with the fabrication of outfitter and exploration tents in the 1920s. Today we deliver a wide variety of ShelterSolutions to customers in virtually every industry, in a variety of climates, anywhere in the world.

We are looking to add a Chief Estimator to our team in Saskatoon. Reporting to the Senior Director of Customer Services, the newly created Chief Estimator role will be responsible for leading the proposals group in the creation of budgets, estimates and proposals to address the needs and requirements of new and existing clients.

Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to build relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders, will be critical in this role. With internal stakeholders, the incumbent will work closely with our Sales and Marketing, Construction and Finance groups to ensure proposals are created accurately and in accordance with customer requirements. Tight timelines are often involved when creating proposals. Building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers will also be key to ensuring a quick turnaround on pricing and other information required for these submissions.

The incumbent will have previous experience leading an estimating function and have the ability to work closely with others in a team environment. As this is a new role, previous experience developing and implementing estimating processes and procedures is a must. Strong attention to detail along with the ability to identify constructability issues and collaborate with others on potential resolutions, is a requirement for this role. Experience with general contracting in an industrial setting would be considered an asset.
