The Regina Public School Division is currently seeking a full-time school counsellor for the start of the 2020-21 school year. School counsellors help children and youth succeed academically,socially and emotionally. They work collaboratively to assist in determining the most appropriate resources and interventions for
each students needs. Their primary focus is to support childrens success in the educational environment and to enhance social functioning. Services provided by school counsellors include
counselling, consultation and prevention education, as well as assessment and remediation of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor or Master of Social Work degree (preferred), along with eligibility for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. Experience at maintaining excellent working relationships with clients, colleagues,
local and provincial organizations, and with a broad section of individuals and agencies within the local community is a must, as are strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, and a valid drivers licence.
