Description

This is a temporary full-time position. We are seeking a full time (35 hour work week) counsellor. Flexibility is required including at least one evening per week.

PURPOSE OF THE POSTION:
Family Service Regina requires an experienced counsellor.  This position provides services to families, couples and individuals working within a brief therapy solution-focused framework.  Preference will be given to candidates who have the capacity to provide counselling services to children.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Provide assessment and counselling to children, families, couples and individuals
Proficiency in a range of clinical theories, especially solution focused, client informed, and brief therapy modalities
Provide single-session therapy within in Walk-In Counselling program as required
Make referrals to other resources where appropriate and liaise with other programs or resources around case management where necessary
Seek appropriate consultation as necessary for clinical work  and complete detailed and timely clinical documentation

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Social or Master of Social Work, Masters of Arts (Psychology), or Master of Education (Psychology)
A member in good standing with professional governing body

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two years of experience (or more than 5 years of experience with a Bachelors of Social Work Degree) with demonstrated knowledge and professional practice skills in frontline services including case management, counselling or clinical services, program management, and/or brief service/crisis intervention.  
Familiarity with a wide variety of evidenced based therapeutic modalities.
