Description

Reporting to the Site Manager of Lodge Services the Lodge Attendant is responsible for carrying out a variety of guest related, dietary, housekeeping and laundry tasks in the Cancer Patient Lodges.  These responsibilities promote both safety and comfort to the guests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Dietary:
Assists with kitchen responsibilities and procedures as required.
Prepares breakfast, snacks and baking.
Assists the cook with all aspects of meal preparation and service.
Assists with kitchen clean up including handling and storing food and leftovers, washing dishes, cleaning equipment and work area.
Serves breakfast, assists with serving dinner and supper to guests at the lodge.

Cleaning:
Performs laundry and linen duties.
Sanitizes guest units.
Makes up beds.
Cleans bathrooms.
Dry/wet mops and vacuums floors.
Washes furniture, beds, ledges, sills, baseboards, pictures etc.
Removes garbage.

Miscellaneous:
Ensures Lodge is safe and secure and reports any equipment failure, security incidents or other unusual incidents to the Site Manager of Lodge Services.
Reports all emergencies to Site Manager of Lodge Services or, when working alone implements appropriate emergency preparedness plan (e.g. Code Red or intruder).
Answers telephone and relays messages.  
Responds to guest call system.
Refers guest health and psychological concerns to the Site Manager of Lodge Services.
Takes applications for room booking.
Admits and discharges guests to the lodge.
Orientates guests to lodge procedures and physical facilities.
Receives and stores Lodge supplies.
Serves on committees and attends meetings as required.

Experience in a medical or health care setting is an asset.
