Description

The Saskatchewan SPCA is an animal welfare organization based in Saskatoon, SK. We focus on animal abuse prevention and humane education; we do not operate an animal shelter. We work to protect the victims of violence and their animals; improve the lives of homeless pets; support a happy, healthy retirement for police dogs; educate the public on the importance of the human-animal bond; and advocate for improved animal welfare legislation.

We are seeking a talented individual to research, write, and edit content for our digital platforms and print publications. The ideal candidate will have an interest in animal welfare and/or experience in the animal welfare sector.

Responsibilities for this position include:
    Creating content for brochures, newsletter articles, web sites, blogs, and other educational materials.
    Researching assigned topics using the internet, personal interviews, or other appropriate methods.
    Drafting, editing, and revising materials as required.
    Other duties as assigned.
Skills:  
    Excellent written communication skills
    Excellent research skills
    Attention to detail
    Ability to work independently or as part of a team environment
    Flexibility and adaptability  
    Work or volunteer experience in the animal welfare sector is an asset

The ideal candidate will have an educational background in veterinary technology, veterinary medicine, English, Journalism, or other relevant discipline.  

Interviews for this position may be conducted via Zoom or in-person, depending on applicant preference.

The successful candidate will be asked to provide a criminal record check.
