Description

Position and Responsibilities
Cameco has two, temporary opportunities for skilled safety professionals to join the Key Lake mill. Working with the health and safety team, you will be responsible for providing safety support for project work including:    

    Providing Cameco safety training (e.g. Respirator Protection, Respirator Fit Tests, Control of Hazardous Energy)
    Chairing job hazard analyses (JHAs) and analysing the safety risks and controls specific to project activities at Key Lake
    Completing inspections and reviewing field level risk assessments to help ensure workers are adhering to safe work plans and Camecos safety standards  
    Completing incident reporting, investigations and supporting the development and implementation of corrective actions resulting from incident reviews
    Completing critical safety monitoring and permitting including Hot Work Permits and Confined Space Permits
    Completing respirator cleaning and maintenance specific to project demands
    Promoting a good working relationship with other groups and departments


Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
    Diploma in occupational health and safety, or relevant technology
    A minimum of five to eight years of relevant work experience
    Experience with critical safety training programs, facilitating Job Hazard Analyses, and managing incidents using an Incident Reporting System (CIRS)
    Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
    Willing to work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
    Site specific experience
    Canadian registered safety professional (CRSP) or equivalent designation
    Advanced first aid certificate
    Qualified emergency response instructor
