Description

We are seeking a full time, experienced PHP Web Developer to build complex and custom WordPress websites. The candidates primary role is to build, maintain, and iterate on a suite of WordPress-based products, such as an LMS and community forum. Our dream candidate has front-end & back-end coding experience, a great eye for design, and the ability to find creative solutions to challenging problems.

Responsibilities
Build responsive WordPress sites, while following company standards and protocols for development and UX/UI design
Create customized WordPress themes, plugins, post types, and fields
Monitor the performance of existing websites and identify solutions
Delivery of full-cycle web development & design projects with heavy emphasis on responsive website and mobile sites
Utilize shared code libraries and resources to create a cohesive user experience among Vendastas various interconnected domains
Design images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
Update existing web pages in both HTML and WordPress
Develop design standards and processes for the Vendasta website
Optimize web application for SEO, performance, and analytics

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (considered an asset), or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience in web and UX/UI design & usability as well as current web standards
Ability to develop innovative WordPress themes & plugins that are efficient and seamless across multiple environments
Fluency in PHP, Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL
Familiarity with basic SEO and performance best practices
An eye for typography, composition and color with pixel-level attention to detail
