Description

The Saskatoon Early Childhood Education Demonstration Centre invites applications for the following Early Childhood Educator position:

Play Yard Maintenance.

This is a summer position working various set shifts within a 37.5 hour, Monday to Friday work week for students from the Education or Horticultural fields to assist with the maintenance of our natural outdoor classrooms.

Duties include but are not limited to:
watering, weeding, planting, lawn care, maintenance & repair of equipment (outdoor and indoor); landscaping heavy (development of natural outdoor play yard for infants) and light (general yard maintenance)

We are looking for individuals who enjoy being around young children and who understand the value of play.  We are looking for individuals who are eager to join a team of professionals and who are keen on developing beautiful outdoor spaces for young children to play in.

Successful candidates will be confident with use of various yard, garden and household tools.

Our successful candidates will be self starters and able to:
rake/dig/move/sand/paint/stain/haul/repair/maintain/create and more

The Centre's of SSCCS Inc. offer a high-quality model of early childhood programming for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  

Minimum requirements:
    
Clear and Current Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector check (provided before first shift)
Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent verbal skills
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
Patient, warm, energetic, flexible, sensitive and responsive.

To be eligible, students must:

Be between the ages of 15-30 at the start of employment
Permanent Canadian Residents; Canadian Citizens; legally eligible to work in SK
