Must possess GRADE 12 education with work experience in child and family services field and /or Certificate of Social Work, training in Life Skills, Drugs/Alcohol, Traditional Parenting and Domestic Violence.
Minimum five (5) years work experience in a related field.
Sound knowledge of clinical theories in relation to child abuse/neglect, social, physical and the impact on children's social, emotional, and mental development.
Knowledge of social work practices and principles relating to family systems theory, history of child welfare, parenting, self-esteem, sexuality, spousal abuse, alcohol and drug abuse, cultural awareness and racism, intervention across cultural lines, traditional and changing roles.
An understanding of human development and the impacts of abuse at the various stages of development.
Knowledge of social, historical and economic factors that impact family life. (residential school, 60's scoop)
Knowledge of community development and services.
Knowledge of conflict resolution and mediation concepts to apply to internal and external audiences.
Knowledge of Fishing Lake First Nations culture, values and traditions in parenting styles, values, and communication.
