Description

DUTIES:
Assess settlement and integration needs of each clients
Provide referrals to community resources, and assist with coordination of settlement and integration services
Assist newcomers in developing their Settlement Plans
Provide crisis management support to newcomers
Provide cultural education to non-settlement service providers
Conduct one on one or group orientation sessions to newcomers on topics such as, but not limited to, housing, education, transportation, employment and child care
Arrange tours of the community resources
Build and maintain relationships with referral sources and community agencies
Maintain records through use of client database
Prepare reports for submission to Executive Director
Requires travelling in the east central SK region for satellite office sessions and establish community connections
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Settlement services or other human services field
Preference will be given to individuals with post-secondary education that includes counseling modalities
Proven experience in working with immigrants and/or being a newcomer to Canada
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including presentation skills
Fluency in a second language is considered an asset
Strong knowledge of community resources
Proficient computer skills
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license and must have a reliable vehicle
