Description

The Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centre (SEYFRC) offers programming, services and resources for all families with young children prenatal to age five. The SEYFRC aims to provide families with positive early learning experiences as well as opportunities to connect and grow together in an inviting, safe and supportive setting.

The Family Programs Facilitator will be responsible for welcoming families into the centre, ensuring positive family engagement and delivering meaningful programming.  

The SEYFRC is an advocate for equity and is committed to ensuring representation in its community. The centre values diversity amongst its staff.

Job duties will include:
-Developing and implementing program activities in collaboration with the Centre Coordinator and other staff.
-Facilitating engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities for children prenatal to age 5 and their families.
-Creating an environment that is welcoming for all families in collaboration with other staff.
-Being a part of the day to day operations at the Centre (organizing, cleaning, planning, data recording and other tasks).
-Assisting in promotion, communications and outreach as needed (may include attending community events, assisting with social media and other tasks).
-Contributing to the creation of an inclusive and accessible environment for diverse families.

Required Skills and Competencies:
-Education and/or training in the area of early childhood education.
-Experience working with children 5 years of age and under.
-Ability to take initiative in planning and implementing relevant and applicable programs.
-Ability to be flexible and creative in order to meet the needs of families accessing the Centre.
-Works well collaboratively as part of a team.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Experience working with diverse populations.
-Knowledge of community resources.

Must be available some evenings and weekends.
