Description

The Geriatric Recreational and Leisure Activities Co-ordinator is responsible for delivering operational and value-added to Eden Care Communities and its subsidiaries.
    8 Week employment
    35 hours per week
    $11.32 per hour

The Geriatric Recreational and Leisure Activities Co-ordinator will:
    Prepare and implement recreational activities for residents that meet their physical, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and social well being
    Coordinates and arranges for portering/transportation for residents (e.g., medical appointments, facility functions).
    Ensures recreation areas are secured to match the cognitive/physical needs of residents.
    Validates and arranges resident-specific activities.
    Coordinates and provides set up, decorating and clean up following activities.
    Assist residents to set up video chats and phone calls with family and friends
    Contribute to meet the residents needs and goals
    Tracks client activity and record complete care delivered
    Provides program direction to clients/patients/residents and volunteers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
    be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
    have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
    ease and familiarity in working with individuals of varying backgrounds and experiences
    an interest or experience in working with a charity
    comfort and ease in communicating with others by email, phone and in person
    proficiency in writing with plain language, proper grammar, and capacity to write clearly and succinctly.
