The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Janitor-On call/Casual. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Janitor position is responsible for general care and cleanliness of YTC offices.
Duties
General Care & Cleanliness of Assigned Areas including:
Vacuum, dust, sweep and mop floors, hallways and furniture
Clean glass on doors and windows
Wipe reception desk and counters
Empty garbage and dispose in recycle/garbage bins
Wash, clean and disinfect bathrooms including toilets and sinks
Clean coffee pot and fridge in the boardroom
Shampoo carpets when required
Maintain Cleaning Supplies
Report required repairs to the building to the appropriate trade or service provider
Secure building lock all doors and windows, turn out lights and set security system
Remove snow from main entrance and other entrances
Pick up garbage in yard
Clean windows
Clean up after staff events and meetings
Follow COVID-19 regulations for Disinfecting and PPE
Qualifications:
Must have knowledge of operating cleaning machinery and knowledge of the use of cleaning agents. Must possess WHMIS training or be willing to take the training.
Must have knowledge of First Nation culture, traditions, and customs.
At times, may be required to carry out assigned roles and responsibilities as relevant to operational requirements
Valid drivers license as well as maintain it throughout employment and reliable vehicle.
Must provide a current criminal record check.
Physical Demands:
Minimal travel is required of Janitor
Occasional weekend work or extended hours is required
Must be physically fit as heavy lifting and manual labour performed
