Description

Water Security Agency currently owns, maintains and operates 72 dams and related canals throughout Saskatchewan that supply the majority of the provinces drinking water, help reduce flood damage, and supply water for irrigation and industrial needs.  We are searching for an enthusiastic individual to join a team of technical and professional staff performing this important work.  
As a member of the team in this role you will implement the operations and physical maintenance program at the South West Structures (SWS) comprising of operation and maintenance of project works, the monitoring and assessment of the watershed and reservoir conditions; conducting operations within predetermined plans; and the inspection and evaluation/testing of various electrical, mechanical, and industrial components.  In addition, you will assist in coordinating the operations and physical maintenance and occupational health and safety programs for the SWS.
You will work among a diverse and passionate team of professionals, both internal and external to Water Security Agency, in the fields of engineering, water quality, ecology, law, sociology, public policy and local governments that are leading this exciting challenge in our province.
The successful candidate should possess a Pre-Trade Certificate (Industrial Mechanic), a valid drivers license and at least 4 years of previous experience.
Note:  To ensure continued safe operations and monitoring of the basin and embankment this position is required to be able to respond to the Lafleche Dam site within 1 hour during high risk periods, such as spring runoff and within 1.5 hours during low risk periods such as winter and fall.
This positions headquarter location will be Lafleche Dam once permanent facilities for an office are developed and will be temporarily in Gravelbourg until the permanent site is established. This position is required to be On Call on a rotational schedule to respond outside of normal business hours.
