Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and part of Meewasins management team, this is an integral role to Meewasin. The incumbent has a primary responsibility to provide successful strategic leadership to the organizations education & experiences initiatives as set out in Meewasins strategic plan.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: In alignment with Meewasins strategic plan and overall mandate, plan, deploy, implement, measure and evaluate:
1. Valley-wide education and experience initiatives integrating the Meewasin message.
2. High quality individual, group and digital experiences and opportunities.
3. Integration of education and experience opportunities in relation to other organizations to support a singular goal for increased availability of quality experiences in the Saskatoon region.
4. Managing and participating in a team of interpretive staff to deliver education and experiences at locations and digitally throughout the Meewasin Valley.
QUALIFICATIONS: A degree or diploma in marketing, communications, tourism, or commerce/business administration with managerial experience in a complementary area and/or travel, cultural planning/development, outdoor recreation or group leadership. At least five years of related management experience, including proven ability to deliver on strategic initiatives, budget implementation/planning, proposal development, consistency & leadership in managing teams, and knowledge of education & experiences market. Proven ability to develop internal/external relationships specifically with K-12 and post-secondary institutions, First Nation and Mtis, tourism and integrate First Nations and Mtis culture, history and ways of knowing into experiences as well as sound technical knowledge in online, electronic and application land and environmental based learning materials.
