Job Description: The Manager of the Environmental Public Health Department is directly accountable to the Director, Clinical Integration and is part of a management/medical dyad, with a Deputy Medical Health Officer. The Manager is a member of the Strategic Management Team ( Medical Health Officer(s), the Director and the other Managers in Population and Public Health). The Manager of the Environmental Public Health Department is responsible for ensuring program planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of environmental public health programs in the Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Programs delivered include mandated programs (as established in provincial legislation, guidelines and agreements) in coordination with federal, provincial and municipal authorities and programs based on local population health priorities.
Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Community Health and Epidemiology, Population Public Health, Health Care Administration or a related health or social sciences discipline is preferred.
Certification: -The incumbent must hold a valid Certificate in Public Health Inspection (CANADA) as issued by the Board of Certification of the Canadian Institute of Public Health inspectors Education
Preference given to a Bachelor's Degree level in Environmental Health
Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Public Health Inspector delivering a variety of environmental health programs, including conducting needs assessment, utilizing health promotion strategies, developing programs and resources, and participating in evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.  Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory position and/or management experience in an unionized environment, with direct accountability for environmenta
