Harvest Community Inc. as been providing work and training opportunities to adults who are experiencing moderate intellectual disabilities for over 40 years. We currently have an opening for a Disability Support Worker for our day program. This work is particularly suitable for those with a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and most importantly, with a vocation to help those with special needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To be a role model in the work place. A positive attitude is a must.
2. To support and work alongside Day Program Participants performing work activities in the day program and the farm site.
3. To support and assist in any programming as required in consultation with the Program Manager.
4. To communicate effectively with other staff.
Applicants considered for this position will be required to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Candidates must have obtained some level of post-secondary education in disability support services.
* Experience: Candidates must have 3-5 years experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities.
* Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada and must communicate/read/write fluently in English.
* Position is in rural location and candidate is responsible for transportation to and from job site.
