Responsibilities:
Joint Venture Monitoring
-Monitor all mining aspects of Joint Ventures not operated by Orano
-Provide internal reporting on JV status (studies, projects/construction and operation)
-Review and comment technical choices, budget proposals, projects approach, etc.
-Participate in working sessions with JV Partners
-Visit mine sites on a regular basis
Study/Project Work
-Conduct technical/financial evaluations and trade-off studies on mining projects (opening or expansions of existing mines)
-Lead or actively participate in conceptual, pre-feasibility and feasibility mining studies
-Lead mining aspects for novel mining method development
-Assist in construction management activities (e.g. tailings facility)
Life of Mine Plan
-Develop production and cost (operating, capital and development ) schedule scenarios for LOM planning based on Joint Ventures production schedules and adapting as required
-Develop budget model and production schedule
-Perform other duties as assigned
-Support and promote Operational Excellence culture
Skills and Qualifications:
-A recognized B.Eng. degree, preferably in Mining Engineering
-APEGS member as a P.Eng. or P. Geo. (or eligible to be)
-At least 8 years of experience at operating mine sites in a planning or supervisory function
-Strong English technical oral and writing skills, knowledge of French is an asset
-Strong capacity for analysis (financial modelling, budgeting, scheduling)
-Familiar with NI-43-101 mining standards
-Familiar with MS-Project (especially Excel), Surpac, AutoCAD, Vulcan, Ventsim
-Able to identify, analyze and tactfully influence implementation of cost-saving measures and third-party projects or production plans
Work Location & Schedule:
-Saskatoon
-During field operations, a 14 in/14 out schedule at McClean Lake site operation is occasionally required
