Data Quality Standards and Lead Role
Are you a problem solver? The person people turn to when they cannot figure something out? eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, results-oriented individual who will be responsible for defining, developing, monitoring and leading data quality services with a consistent approach at measuring accuracy, timeliness, relevance, comparability, completeness and usability.

To succeed in this role you will define and develop data quality measures and metrics for the Discharge Abstract Database (DAD) and the National Ambulatory Care Reporting System (NACRS) to ensure coding quality is in compliance with national and provincial standards.This involves mentoring, instructing and leading 75 Health Information Management Professionals in their data submissions to the Canadian Institution for Health Information.

This position needs a strong knowledge of diagnostic (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems - ICD) and intervention codes (e.g. Canadian Classification of Health Interventions - CCI), national and provincial coding standards, all data elements in DAD and NACRS, and the ability to write complex queries to extract data from DAD and NACRS.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through certification with Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM); an active membership with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), and completion of the Coding Specialist course from CHIMA.
