Description

The successful candidate will possess:

Completion of a Biomedical Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent
Active or eligible for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta
Experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering Technology considered an asset
Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as networking and PC based equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical end-users
Proficiency in troubleshooting and installing hardware, software, operating systems and networking
The ability to take instruction, while working independently and in a team setting

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Perform service and support/maintenance and repair for medical equipment to ensure safety and reliability
Traveling between clinics across Alberta and Saskatchewan for on site repairs
Assembles/installs/repairs, calibrates, inspects and performs preventative maintenance on biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with medical safety standards
Coordinate Preventative Maintenance schedules for machines
Provide technical support of medical equipment and clinical systems
Perform Quality Assurance testing on machines and ensure compliance to accreditation specifications and standards
Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of networks, servers, computer workstations and equipment
Troubleshoot problems and provide recommendations for new hardware and software when necessary
Provide support and assist in planning and implementation of IT initiatives
