The Jean E. Murray Chair is a Research Scientist who will join the Cancer Researchers in the Cancer Cluster, consisting of 4 other SCA Research Scientists and 4 University of Saskatchewan faculty members engaged primarily in basic biomedical cancer research. Expertise within the group currently includes: cell signaling, epigenetics, transcriptional regulation, tumor immunotherapy, kinase functions, DNA repair, genomics and synthetic lethality. Research Scientists are full-time researchers employed by the SCA that also hold appointments in the Division of Oncology, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and typically have a cross-appointment to another University of Saskatchewan Department. This cross-appointment allows them to participate in graduate student training and carry out a small amount of upper level teaching.
Applicants should currently be an Associate Professor or equivalent, with at least 5 years as an independent investigator, a proven track record in research and a strong publication record. Candidates in any area of Cancer Research will be considered and those with research interests in Cancer Models, Proteomics, Bioinformatics and/or Translational Cancer Research are particularly encouraged to apply
