WE ARE LOOKING FOR A
FLOOR COVERING & TILE INSTALLATION APPRENTICE/HELPER
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Assist with job preparation including ripping out old flooring/tile, subfloor work, applying patch to necessary problem areas, etc
- Learning the process of laying all types of flooring including plank, linoleum, carpet, ceramic and porcelain tile in a variety of areas including stairs, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc
- Assist in tiling showers, backsplash and other wall tile
- Learn Schluter products and how to use these effectively
- Trouble shooting areas of concern or unexpected changes within a job to choose the best solution for the customer
- Work towards becoming an expert in the floor installation industry.
- Create an unforgettable, positive customer experience from start to finish
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Teachability, positive, upbeat attitude
- Previous experience an asset but not necessary
- Understanding of basic measurements including both the metric and imperial systems
- Ability and knowledge of basic tools including drills, saws, etc
- Measure, cut and mix floor materials
- An eye for detail and precision
- Problem solving on the job
- Drivers license
- Ability to lift 100 lbs
- The ability and interest to participate in introspection and self development
- Communication skills both written and verbal are essential
