Major Purpose: Sample and grade inbound trucks, run lab equipment following procedures closely to ensure accurate results, speak with customers, clean and maintain lab equipment.
Responsibilities & Requirements
This position requires great attention to detail and precision
Comply with company safety policies and procedures
Ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies
Accurately completing necessary documentation
Operator will be responsible for the daily unloading of a variety of grain products
Ability to operate or learn to operate computerized railcar loading systems and equipment
Learn to operate grain testing equipment and learn to grade grain
Willing to work a rotating shift work schedule, overtime, holidays, nights and weekends as required.
Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies
Assist in other loading procedures when necessary
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
Grain elevator or grading experience is an asset but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to climb up and down railcars/ladders safely, walk up and down steps, and work at heights
Willing to work outside in inclement weather
Able to work in an environment with high dust levels
Can lift, push, pull at least fifty (50) pounds
In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
Must have the ability to work safely, communicate well and perform in a team environment
Qualifications
Read, write, and understand English
Basic math skills
Computer skills (data entry)
Valid Drivers License and clean drivers abstract
Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Must be 18 years of age
