Description

The individual will be responsible for supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety team by, facilitating and implementation of ecology, health and safety programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements (federal, provincial, local) primarily for the BASF Agricultural Specialties Site in Saskatoon, SK.

The individual will also provide limited support to smaller offices and research farm locations in the Saskatoon area as required.

This is a contracted position.

Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety or successful completion first year of program with commitment to compete program.

At least 1 year of education or related experience in EHS.

Ability to use Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, power point, etc.  

Ability to interact with site level manufacturing/business management.

Ability to interact with community, and non-government organizations.

Ability to interact with provincial and federal regulatory agencies.

Experience in manufacturing environment, experience in a laboratory environment, and experience in managing biological safety protocols.

Working knowledge of process safety and environmental regulations and technology.

Duties will include, but are not limited to; site inspections, worker and contractor audits, permit and site audits,  maintenance of EHS policies and procedures such as safe work permits, job safety analysis, management of change, incident/accident investigation, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work permits, forklift and elevated surfaces work, hoists and, electrical safety.  Development and  delivery of EHS specific training, emergency response drills and coordination of annual training. and special projects to be determined by the EHS Specialist based on the interest of the successful candidate.
