Description

Applications are currently being accepted for the position of Superintendent of the Water Treatment Plant.  This is a permanent full-time position, reporting to the Manager of Water & Wastewater.  The Superintendent is responsible for the operation of the level 4 water treatment plant as well as the two reservoirs, two booster stations and a bulk water fill station within the City of Swift Current in accordance with the Water Security Agencys Permit to Operate Waterworks.  In addition, responsibilities include budget planning, education and certification of staff, as well as reporting to the Saskatchewan Water Security Agency.
Basic Requirements:
    Possess and maintain Level 4 Water Treatment Certification. Preference will be given to applicants that also have Level 3-4 Water Distribution Certification;
    Minimum 5 years experience and knowledge of similar municipal water treatment process and operations including previous supervisory experience;
    Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques related to water treatment, monitoring, testing and analysis;
    Knowledge of current legislative regulations and regulatory guidelines pertaining to water treatment and distribution;
    Knowledge of instrumentation, PLCs and industrial controls;
    Ability to effectively supervise, direct, evaluate and motivate employees, with proven strong leadership skills;
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
    Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 drivers Licence;and
    Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer.
