The successful applicant will join our Machine Learning (ML) and Optimization group focused on operationalizing ML systems. The position provides the opportunity to collaborate with world leading companies, potentially contribute to industry standards and develop industrial-grade ML systems for Calians various business areas including:

-Smart agriculture technology
-Smart resource management for satellite and terrestrial communication/networks
-Predictive maintenance for high-value assets
-Data driven modeling for 5G networks
-Earth observation data processing

Responsibilities:

-Contribute to all aspects of ML system design from proposal to operations
-Apply statistical and machine learning methods to solve predictive problems
-Prototype and evaluate the performance of alternate solutions
-Write production-grade code using standard software development methodologies
-Design integration, testing and monitoring mechanisms for ML components

Requirements:

-A strong passion for AI
-The ability to cope with fast changing AI technologies and changing priorities
-Understanding of modern ML and statistical modeling techniques
-Analytical skills to query, clean and transform big data
-Experience with common ML/data libraries: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark
-Experience deploying applications in one of the cloud platforms: AWS, GCP
-Master's in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics with significant data science component; or bachelor's degree with min. 2 years experience in industrial ML

The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. All employees will be required to apply for a Government Security Clearance.
