An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
Main duties
1. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
2. Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
3.Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
4.Oversee kitchen operations
5.Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
6. May set up and oversee buffets
7. May clean kitchen and work area
8. May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
9.May hire and train kitchen staff.
10. Cooks should specialize in preparing and cooking burgers, pizza, pastas, breads and so on.
11.Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
12. Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
13.Cook food in various utensils or grillers
14. Check food while cooking to stir or turn
15.Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served

Candidate should be employed in restaurants, hotels, hospitals and other health care institutions, central food commissaries, educational institutions, and other establishments.
