HMCS UNICORN is Saskatoon's Naval Reserve Division, offering part-time and full-time summer employment as part of the Royal Canadian Navy. We provide an excellent opportunity for students looking to supplement their income during the school year. We work one night per week and one Saturday per month, September through April. We offer full time employment opportunities during the summer months, May through August, depending on ones availability. There is also no minimum obligation of service to the Naval Reserve.

Naval Combat Information Operators are responsible for the operation of all shipboard surveillance radars and associated equipment of the shipboard intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

As members of the ships Combat Information Organization, NCIOps assist and advise the ships leadership in navigation, anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare. Their primary duties are to:
- Configure and operate:
  o Ships radars
  o Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems
  o Information processing systems
  o Ships borne integrated communication equipment and related subsystems
- Analyze equipment and system performance on all combat information equipment
- Perform basic on-line fault diagnostic procedures
- Collect, correlate, record, analyze, display, and disseminate all tactical information

Qualifications
- Be 16-56 years of age (parental consent required under 18)
- Be a Canadian Citizen
- Completed grade 10 high school education
