Description

As Visitor & Membership Engagement Coordinator, you will help promote Saskatoon to both visitors and residents to help them become aware of the diversity of Saskatoon experiences to encourage return visits and longer stays.
Core duties include:
- Provide front-line assistance to walk-in visitors and residents with questions about accommodations, events, attractions and other tourism-related businesses.
- Answer telephone and e-mail inquiries about Saskatoon and area as well as questions related to Tourism Saskatoon and its operations.
- Coordinate all areas of merchandising and promotional items including daily cash reconciliations via Sage Accounting and POS terminal; maintain a quarterly inventory count of items in stock; purchase inventory; sell merchandise and track promotional/giveaway items; maintain merchandise display area.
- Coordinate distribution of Tourism Saskatoon publications & information stand deliveries.
- Co-ordinate the work schedule, training manual and FAM tour, as well as training of the Visitor Experience Experts.
- Planning, organizing, and executing special events for members, ie: golf tournament, member workshops.
- Process membership renewals, recruit new members, and maintain membership database.
- Collecting information, designing and distributing electronic newsletter (Tourism Talk).
- Coordinate Tourism Saskatoon mascot appearances.
Your credentials include:
- A minimum of three years of experience in in an Administration Assistant or service relation position or a combination of experience and a diploma or certificate in a recognized business program.
- Certification as a Tourism Visitor Information Counsellor would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of Saskatoon and area.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows and database programs.
- Sales experience would be considered an asset.
